How to Save a Sequence as a Template

If you have built a sequence you want to reuse across campaigns, you can save it as a template. This article covers two scenarios: saving a sequence while building it, and saving a sequence from a campaign that is already live.

Saving a sequence as template while building it

Step 1: Save the sequence as template:

  • Once you have built your sequence in the sequence builder, scroll to the bottom and click "Save to Templates." If you can't see the "save templates" button, you need to scroll down using the scrollbar on the right side of the sequence. This happens if you have a smaller monitor.

  • Give the template a name and click "Save Template."

Step 2: How to use the template in a new campaign:

When you create a new campaign and get to the sequence step, you will get 2 options:

  1. Start from scratch

  2. Create from templates

To use a template, click "Create from templates".

When you click it, you will see a pop-up window where you can browse all of your templates. From here, you simply choose a template and click continue. The sequence will be applied to the new campaign.

Saving a sequence from a live campaign

Once a campaign is launched, you cannot save its sequence directly as a template. The "Save to Templates" option is not available on live campaigns.

The workaround is to duplicate the campaign.

Step 1: Click "Duplicate Campaign" on the campaign you want to save.

Step 2: Upload any lead list to move past the leads step. The leads do not matter here since you will delete this campaign after.

Step 3: When you reach the sequence step, you will see the exact sequence from your original campaign. Click "Save to Templates," name the template, and save it.

Step 4: Delete the duplicated campaign. You only needed it to access the sequence builder.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Get into the habit of saving sequences as templates while building them. It takes two seconds and saves you the duplicate workaround later.
