How to Edit a Campaign in Sendpilot

Editing a live campaign in Sendpilot works differently depending on what you want to change. Some things you can edit directly. Others require a workaround. This article covers both.

Written by Oskar Moen

What you can edit directly

To start editing, open your campaign and click "Edit Campaign" in the top right corner.

From there, you can edit the following:

  • Daily sending limits (connection requests, messages, post likes)

  • ICP score prompt and drop-off score

  • Connection note text

  • Time intervals between steps

  • Message content in any sequence step

  • Voice notes

  • Sending schedule (days and hours)

πŸ’‘ TIP: Look for the pencil icon next to any item in the sequence. If you see a pencil, you can edit it.

Once you've made your changes, click "Save" and then "back to campaign".

Note* It can take up to 24 hours for changes to reflect in the campaign.

What you cannot edit directly

If you have launched your campaign, there are two things that you can't edit in the existing campaign. These things are:

  1. LinkedIn senders. You cannot add or remove LinkedIn accounts from an active campaign.

  2. Sequence steps. You cannot add or remove steps from an existing sequence. This means you can't add or remove any nodes such as Send Connection Request, Message, Voice Note, ICP Score, Like Post, If Connected, Withdraw Connection Request

If you need to make either of these changes, there is a workaround until we add this feature. Learn the workaround below.

Workaround: Add or remove LinkedIn accounts and sequence steps in an active campaign

After you've launched a campaign, you can't add or remove LinkedIn accounts (senders) or steps in your sequence in that campaign.

However, there is a workaround that lets you:

  • Add steps to a campaign after launching it

  • Remove steps from a campaign after launching it

  • Add LinkedIn accounts/sender to a campaign after launching it

  • Remove LinkedIn accounts/senders from a campaign after launching it

Here is a step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Filter for pending leads

Open your campaign and go to the "Leads" tab. Use the Status filter and select "Pending." Pending means that the leads have not been contacted yet.

Leads tab with the Status filter open and "Pending" selected, highlighted with a red square.

Pending leads are leads that have not been contacted yet. No connection request, no message, no actions taken. These are safe to move.

Step 2: Select all pending leads

Click "Select all leads that match this filter."

Step 3: Move leads to a new campaign

  • Click "Manage Selected Leads" and then choose "Move to Another Campaign."

  • Select "Create Campaign," name it, and click "Create and Move Leads."

Step 4: Build the new campaign

The duplicated campaign you created will now appear under Draft status. To find the campaign:

  1. Navigate to Campaigns on the sidebar

  2. Click "Campaign status" and select "Draft"

  3. Look for the campaign you created. It should be the one at the top.

From here, open the campaign, click "Continue to LinkedIn Accounts". Here you can select the senders you want to use.

When you have selected the right senders, click "Continue to Sequences" to build your updated sequence from scratch. This is where you can add and remove steps from your sequence.

When you're done, you can configure the remaining settings like schedule and then launch the campaign.

πŸ’‘ Note: When you move leads with pending status, they are automatically removed from the original campaign. Therefore, you don't need to pause the original campaign since there is no overlap. You can also use the same sender(s) in the new campaign, that are also in the original campaign - senders in multiple campaigns, simply split the sending volume between the campaigns.
